Remember that Sessions was one of the few Senators who campaigned for Trump, and from an early time, also.
And while he was in the Senate, he had enormous respect from conservatives especially for his stand on illegal immigration and the size of the federal government. Remember that time he actually brought the Obamacare bill* onto the Senate floor and had to have several pages help carry it, it was big?
So his endorsement of Trump had an effect on Trump winning. If he compromised by the Deep State, would they let him continue to help Trump campaign?
Maybe he was compromised after the election? After Trump chose him as AG?
*It could have been some other bill, but I do remember the optics of it. Worked very well against liberals I knew, too. When I posted the picture, they had no real rebuttal.
