I think they’ll find that the bilge pump was either not functioninal or not engaged and they got swamped before sinking.

I would even venture to guess that the high capacity bilge pump is what saved the one that made it back in.

Yup. The one that made it back looked higher in the water, too.

Of course, the one that sunk could have just gotten the worst wave at the worst time that filled the boat, too.
