Radio talker Glenn Beck put forth a defense of disgraced Disney movie director James Gunn, who was fired due to years of “jokes” about child rape. Beck took to Twitter to back Gunn despite his many vile posts about pedophilia.
“I will stand for you. We all make mistakes, we must come together as each of us grow and change,” Beck said to Gunn. “Forgive others in hope that they will forgive themselves and others too. Reach beyond your comfort zone and be kind. You don’t need my forgiveness J.G, but I offer friendship.”

Yeah no thanks. Fuck that creeper. Multiple years of those “jokes” is not an accident, or a mistake. It’s a pattern that should be investigated. You know who else had a pattern? Harvey Weinstein, Bill Clinton, Bill Cosby etc etc. These people are known to be creepers, but it’s ignored.

Even in the prison system, child rape is often the death penalty. Kill a cop, and you’re a hero there. Rape a woman and then kill her, no problem. But rape a child, WATCH OUT. They may have distorted values there, but they have limits.
So Mr. Beck, you’ve crossed a line that even your remaining defenders won’t be able to help you with.

I don’t know why my local conservative talk radio station still has him on from 9am-noon. I contacted them over a year or so ago and asked why they couldn’t put someone on that people would want to listen to. I got a snarky comment from the manager that his show was doing just fine for the radio station. I responded with a couple of FR threads as an example of what real people were saying about him but didn’t hear anything else and they still have him on. I still don’t listen between 9am-noon.
Glenn is defending him under the premise of freedom of speech. James Gunn has made horrendous statements that can stem from his being raped as a child. Per his tweets. I stand with the assumption of innocence over The presumption of guilt without evidence.
If I were Disney, he’d still be fired, for inappropriate conduct, but I would not speculate him to be a pedofile without solid evidence.

I thought he had already gone bust. Does he still have his operation in Southlake, Tx? Thought I read somewhere it was up for sale but not sure. Too bad. Back before he went off the rails I thought a lot of what he said made sense. Don’t know what happened to him....
