A cardiologist who once treated former President George H.W. Bush was gunned down Friday morning while riding his bicycle through Houston’s Texas Medical Center.

Hausknecht was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Finner said he was hit at least once.
The area where the shooting took place is part of a 1,345-acre complex of hospitals and medical institutions, including the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and is teeming with traffic and pedestrians during the day.
Hausknecht was going to work at Houston Methodist Hospital when he was shot, the hospital's CEO said in an email to staff.

Investigators believe the gunman was following behind the doctor for two blocks before shooting him.
The suspect is described by police as a man about 30 years-old, light skinned possibly white or Hispanic, clean shaven with a slim frame.
They believe he was wearing a tan cap, sunglasses and khaki shorts.

And I would imagine, in this day and age, a decent network of CCTV cameras, perhaps?
And if there is such a network, I’m pretty sure it was down for scheduled maintenance on the date and time the assassination took place.
Kind of the way that all Police/Fire/EMS radio system collapsed during the school and airport shootings. Imagine that?
