Not even James Bond had an Aston Martin like this.
The British sports car maker revealed a concept version of a flying car, the Volante Vision Concept, at the Farnborough Airshow this week.
Aston Martin has billed the futuristic vehicle as a luxury car for the skies. The autonomous hybrid-electric vehicle, which has room for three passengers, is designed for urban and inter-city travel, the company said. Its also capable of vertical take-offs and landings. The vehicle could fly at top speeds of around 200 miles per hour, according to Reuters.

LOL. You must be a British car owner or enthusiast.
Full disclosure: I’m a two-time Brit car owner.

Flying cars! Finally! I went to the 1964 Worlds Fair in NYC and went on GM’s “World Of Tomorrow’’ ride and they said we’d have flying cars by 1980. Crimminy, it’s about time!

LOL. You must be a British car owner or enthusiast. Actually, I am a hard-core Mopar Man for my entire automotive life. I have owned a 1970 Plymouth 440 Cuda Convertible, and a 1970 Plymouth 440 six-barrel 4-speed GTX in Hemi Orange with a Air-Grabber Hood. My high school car was a 1971 383 Magnum Dodge Charger SE. I have been a professional automotive restoration specialist for over forty years and love every Mopar Minute of it.

Highways in the Sky has been on the FAA planning board for over 30 years. I participated in it back in 1988 and again recently.
The problem is that technology is not where it needs to be for manned autonomous flight. Not even close.

I knew about the
Volantor two decades ago, and watched some of their testing videos.
This would be a viable concept, but there seems to be two things that puts the kibosh to the dream of the flying car:
Government regulations
Driver stupidity
But, screw it all!!
I want a Snowspeeder!!
