Facebooks reticence to publicly weigh in on the Trump campaigns use of its ad platform has rankled some within the former campaign. "I believe Facebook was a great platform for the president," Trump 2016 campaign digital director Brad Parscale, who is now serving as Trump's 2020 campaign manager, told BuzzFeed News. "I'm completely disappointed that Facebook won't step up and announce to the world how well we used the platform and that we changed the way Facebook advertising will work in the future."
So far, any praise for the Trump campaigns use of the platform has been made in private. In April, Bloomberg reported that Facebook internally circulated a white paper just after the election that showed that Clinton spent $28 million from June to November 2016, while testing 66,000 different ads. In comparison, Trump spent $44 million in that period and tested 5.9 million versions of ads, suggesting his campaigns Facebook strategy was more complex than Clintons and better leveraged Facebooks ability to optimize for outcomes.
Parscale has echoed those comments, explaining on 60 Minutes last year that the site obsessively tested ad creative and messaging up to 100,000 different versions per day of different ads. That involved changing language, words, colors, changing things because certain people like a green button better than a blue button, he explained to 60 Minutes, outlining the automated alterations that were made to spit out different versions of an ad. Some people like the word donate or contribute.

So maybe his public reason for dissing Trump at every opportunity is to make nice with his friends in Silicon Valley?
Butt kissin’ little puke.
I agree, an absolute genius, and I bet you he made very little at first. Probably one of the most important people behind the scenes.
Also, amazing how they were able to utilize FB more so than Clinton.
Very pleased that he’s on board the Trump Train. The 60 Minutes Show is worth watching again.
This is all new to me.
Wait until the social justice warriors find about it—grab a bunch of popcorn—this will be fun to watch!
“So maybe his public reason for dissing Trump at every opportunity is to make nice with his friends in Silicon Valley?”
I grew up not very far from where he lives (and works) in Silicon Valley. “Liberals” like that just virtue signal whenever possible, but, as you astutely point out, there’s zero translation between said virtue signaling and how they make their money.
If the roles were reversed, we’d have been treated to an infinite stream of news analysis about how brilliant the Clinton campaign’s use of social media was compared to the troglodyte Trump.
Of course Z called the president-elect to congratulate him. Being an employee of (...), he wanted to get on the good side of his new boss. :P
I mean, Facebook probably helped them with fundraising but did it help in changing people's minds? lol come on now!
The campaign changed people’s minds; they effectively used Facebook as one of the tools to do so. The Trump rallies were in my opinion probably the biggest tool, but I’m sure that Facebook was not insignificant.
I have no doubt FB helped with the women vote. Women found they were not alone when they thought HRC was a duplicitous manipulating liar and maybe it was time to give a successful outsider a chance. That was the case with my wife at least. Of course now they are censoring wrong thinking.
Lots more women for sure were exposed to Trump, as some are on FB 24/7!
I heard somewhere Zuckerberg wasn’t his real name. Do you know?
“So maybe his public reason for dissing Trump at every opportunity is to make nice with his friends in Silicon Valley?”
Zuckerberg is a Secular Progressive “Semite.” You can’t trust him. His wallet and his political leanings go in that order.
The first letter is F—don’t know more than that. :-)
