HOUSTON Police say a husband opened fire on two home invasion suspects as they tried to hold his wife at gunpoint overnight.
This happened around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home in in southeast Houston near Scott and Airport.
According to the Houston Police Department, the husband managed to shoot one of the suspects in the head.
Investigators said it all started when the mans wife pulled into their driveway Tuesday night. Then the two armed suspects jumped out and tried to rob her.
First, they took her purse, and then they tried to force her into the house. However, that is when her husband showed up.
He heard the commotion from inside, grabbed his gun and ended up exchanging gunfire with the intruders.
Fortunately, the couple werent hit, but one of the suspects was hit in the head, police said. The other suspect took off running.
Police said the injured suspect was taken into surgery.
As for the couple, one can only imagine what was going through their mind when this was all over. Hopefully, theyre able to find some peace of mind this morning, knowing theyre OK.

Many, many times. Criminal Minds is one of the biggest offenders. With a roomful of agents who (supposedly) are excellent shots, one of the agents will drop his gun and try to talk the suspect into letting the victim go and dropping his weapon. This is insanity, risking two lives in order to save the life of a serial killer? This kind of la-la land crap is repeated on other cop shows ad infinitum.
Good. Too bad the other worm wasn’t terminated.
Perps can't hold dead weight as cover, for too long.
LOL, I wondered the same, myself.
Knowing the first perp means finding the other will be easy. Happy hunting!
If you don’t have a gun in your home, you are an idiot. And I mean— loaded and ready to go. Your life may depend on it,
Good shooting!
Give him a civic award.
That worked out pretty good!! d;^)
Believe it or not, I’ve given this scenario a lot of thought. I have a fine 9mm carbine with a laser and an Aimpoint PRO sighted in at 7 yards. I’m confident in the weapon’s capability if I can use it properly. I think I’ll head to the range in the morning....
“Taken into surgery? If I were the doctors, Id take about 2 hours to come up with a diagnosis.”
“Hmmmm...He appears to be suffering from poisonous humors caused by a witches potion. A good bleeding should have him back on his feet in no time.”

That’s why I quit watching an otherwise entertaining show. One twitch of the finger and the hostage or one of the agents is dead. Too stupid to watch. We had a case locally several years ago where a guy was waving a gun around. A deputy, who had known the guy since childhood, tried the old “okay, buddy, hand me the gun” trick. The deputy ended up dead.
“I tell my wife that in that situation, just faint.”
In the police academy we were taught to grab the weapon and basically collapse to the floor so our partner could take the shot.
Two gentle giant pre-med students out looking for mentos?
A head shot ???
I’m sure the family will sue based on the fact he should have shot him in the ass...

BUT?! The cries, angst and gnashing of teeth in the writer/editor’s office must have been drowning
I freaking hate tv shows/movies where the good guys drop their weapons because a bad guy is holding a hostage and threatens to kill said hostage. How exactly is disarming going to improve this scenario? It’s not and any reasonable person knows that.
Just more anti-gun liberal insanity/propaganda being shoveled like cow poop.
I like happy endings!
