I think it could be much earlier than that. Especially if they can get a Citroen-branded electric car on the market by 2021.

I have driven a Peugeot and an Opel in the past few years in Europe. Can’t complain at all. Both nice little zippy cars. No complaints at all. Nice smooth six-speed manuals. If they export those, they will be popular depending on price.

The French don’t even buy French cars...so now *I* am expected to do so?

Just visited the Opel website. Cars look pretty dumpy compared to the 69 GT I used to have.

Yeah, but they also made this gem. Either Jeremy Clarkson or Jay Leno (can't recall which one) loves that car for some reason.

When I went to my officer basic course at Fort Knox, my roommate from NJ had a Peugeot. Way back then heated seats were kind of a novelty, and I was impressed with it... The interior was very comfortable.

Ya, but you had to remove the rear fenders to change the rear tires

I look forward to it. The more choices in the market the better.

Actually a fantastic car that met a demand in the market. It’s widely considered the French VW Beetle.

Amen. Citroen has made some fantastic cars, very advanced for their time.

"I look forward to it. The more choices in the market the better." And no one has noticed that they are thinking of US production.

no one is going to ever again be successful with a manual transmission in a general-purpose passenger automobile in the U.S. ... Fiat even failed with even a semi-auto transmission ...

I came "this" close to buying an Opal GT....wound up getting a new MG.
It was loads of fun driving it but it was easily the worst car I ever owned. MG Rust Orange with Navy Blue leather interior - it was hot back in the day.

Back in the day, Opels were sold via Buick dealers. The 67-68 Kadett featured a bullet proof 1.1 liter motor that after markets shops could hop up. The little engine would turn 7,000 rpm over and over. It was like a two stroke Kawasaki of the era.

Unless they can come up with something as advanced as the Citroën SM, they should reconsider.
