I think you’re spot-on.

We will go from a “sugary drink tax” to an “unhealthy foods tax.” This way, they can tax potato chips, pretzels, tortilla chips, etc.

I had never heard of Scrapple until I moved to Del-Uh-Where? 20 years ago.

That is so damned good.

Now I gotta see if anyone in Calipornia sells it.

Hungry....

Elections have consequences. Vote for leftists and you get control backed by the full threat of violence from the government.

To get around the law, vendors can just call it “pop”.

They need more money to support the illegal immigrants so they have to dream up new taxes in the interest of our benefit.

The tax is applied to sugar-free diet soda. Also, because of it's shape, most of Philly is only a few minutes away from its city line. And cheap soda. This is virtue signaling that doesn't do anything but hurt local businesses, and help suburban businesses.

Anthony Campisi, a spokesperson for the affiliated Ax the Philly Bev Tax Coalition, said that “actual sales data show a much different result — that this tax has simply caused families to shift their shopping to the suburbs to avoid the tax, harming Philadelphia’s small businesses and working families.”

That'll get 'em off the stoop and into the streets!

I'm one of the few Philly natives who HATES scrapple...unless it comes directly from an Amish/Mennonite farm. Fresh Lancaster County scrapple is worth raving about.

Grew up on generic scrapple (yes there is "name brand" scrapple!) and it was a nightmare. You never knew what sort of inedible chunk would show up in your next fork-full.

I grew up in the suburbs near City Line Ave....Dad loved the stuff but I’m with you: scrapple is made of the stuff they throw away when making hot dogs.

I have formulated hot dogs for Bryan.
For all beef and pork, water, beef hotdogs, Nothing in there but good muscle tissue.
Hot links, on the other hand, had all sorts of offal (organ meat) in them. (But they taste delicious! - really good seasonings!)
And don’t get me started on mechanically deboned turkey and chicken!
