This makes sense. Something of this magnitude would need to be handled at a state constitutional convention, not simply as a majority rule ballot measure.

Something of this magnitude would need to be handled at a state constitutional convention, not simply as a majority rule ballot measure.Under the California State Constitution, two-thirds of each house of the California legislature would have to call a con-con. That's not going to happen. The California Supreme Court just told Californians that they do not control their State. If Californians want to divide the State, they will have to first overthrow their State government.
