Third party? Snort. NYS wishes it had 2 parties.
1970 U.S. Senate:
James Buckley (Conservative Party) 2.3 million
Richard Ottinger (Democrat) 2.2 million
Charles Goodell Republican line 1.2 million, Liberal line 0.2 million, 1.4 million total.
1980 U.S. Senate: Alfonse D’Amato beat Jake Javits in the Republican primary. Javits was nominated by the Liberal Party but D’Amato won the general as well.
It sounds like Elizabeth Perri (Conservative) is a better candidate than Pappas (Republican).
Crowley is clearly capable of winning on the Working Families ticket - he’s already the nominee, doesn’t have to go out and get petitions or anything like that.
He’s got $4M in campaign funds.
