Did Trump Commit Treason at Putin Meeting? Here's What Lawyers Say
Newsweek ^ | 7/17/18 | Shane Croucher

There are many things you can accuse President Donald Trump of. And treason is now apparently one of those after his controversial press conference with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin at their summit in Helsinki, Finland. But do lawyers agree?

“Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of ‘high crimes & misdemeanors,’” tweeted John Brennan, the former CIA director. “It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???”

Brennan’s premise is that at the press conference, Trump appeared to side with Putin over America’s own intelligence agencies on the issue of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Putin denies what the U.S. intelligence community is telling Trump—that the Kremlin used cyberwarfare to undermine American democracy. And Trump, whose 2016 campaign is under investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller over suspicions of collusion with the Russian government, seems to believe Putin.

I’ll add one scenario on this. The treaty framework likely chosen? It’ll be the same reading as the one for France or Germany. So when the treaty is done and signed by Trump and Putin....the Senate has to get it and approve it.

Well...you can expect both the GOP and Democratic idiots to say absolutely no. Then Trump will release the little trap....saying it’s identical to the one that we have with France. Then he’ll ask....is the French extradition treaty unacceptable as well? All of this could be done by late October, and focus the fate of the Senate election on some extradition treaty business.

Ms. Pelosi is traveling with a high-level group of lawmakers, included Representatives Henry A. Waxman and Tom Lantos of California, Louise M. Slaughter of New York, Nick J. Rahall II of West Virginia and Keith Ellison of Minnesota, all Democrats, as well as David L. Hobson, Republican of Ohio.

. In Damascus, many welcomed Ms. Pelosi’s arrival on Tuesday as a breakthrough.

“There is a feeling now that change is going on in American policy — even if it’s being led by the opposition,” said Ziad Haider, Damascus bureau chief for Al Safir, a leftist Lebanese daily. He added, emphatically: “She views the world through a different perspective than Bush. She’s more open-minded.”

2018 scandals
In January 2018, the Newsweek Manhattan office was raided by investigators with a search warrant, and 18 non-operational computer servers were confiscated. It has been reported this may be the result of a probe on Newsweek finances.[37] The parent company, Newsweek Media Group, had been under investigation about potentially fraudulent loans for at least 17 months prior, and part owners Johnathan Davis and Etienne Uzac were known to be heavily in debt

” the 1980s called and they want their foreign policy back.”

I believe that was the exact quote. I’m glad you remember that because I was thinking about it today along with Obama promising to have more flexibility in dealing with Putin if he was elected to a second term.

This is all scripted out like a WWE wresting match, if you sit long enough and think about it. Trump has arranged the whole thing to be some opera-like setting. There are dozens of traps laid out and waiting to be some spring-board to the next story/next battle/next fight.

Once he bypassed the news media with Twitter, and labeled the press as liars...you were in the arena and watching his show...his way. I think Putin has worked the same ‘show’, but without the aid of Twitter.

I really don’t care what lawyers say.

IF Democrats with their Left base and the anti-Trump crowd on the right think president Trump committed a treason,

BRING

IT

ON

Lawyers are trained to argue both sides of an issue, so what they “say” is meaningless.

Keep in mind that over 50% of the American sheeple get their "news" from these type of media shills, and suck it all up without giving it any further thought. I have them in my family and no amount of discussion will persuade them to find other "news" sources. Their preference is staring at the stupid tube and watching the "beautiful people" reading the propaganda of the day.

So Trump commits treason if he does not believe or loudly support a corrupted intelligence agency that tried to keep him from being elected and messed around in a US election? The logic is mind-boggeling.

The inmates of the asylum are chattering among themselves. I don’t know why sane, rational people would care what they think.

You mean the Rosenbergs the American left treated as heroes and martyrs? That was back when the Russians were Communists, so the leftists sympathized with them instead of hating them like today.

And, no one Big Media points out the obvious, that after 1 1/2 years of thorough investigating, they still haven’t charged him with any crime.

Any lawyer who says it was treason needs to return his diploma to the “close match book cover before striking” law school that awarded him one.

RE:”This is all they have? They must have nothing. They’re grasping at straws.”

They have Trump saying that Putin denied it.

That's treason.

I would make an extradition trade with the Russians. Give the Soros for the 12 Russian agents.
