The Marching Morons by C. M. Kornbluth

Very interesting read. It is funny how much the author gets right about "the future", and the central theme is reminiscent of the basis of Idiocracy. On the other hand, he thought newsreels would still be around hundreds of years from now. Like much Science Fiction, the story plays out much like a Twilight Zone episode, worth reading to the end even though you have a good idea of how it will turn out.
