Beginning his joint press conference with Vladimir Putin, President Trump declared that U.S. relations with Russia have “never been worse.”
He then added pointedly, that just changed “about four hours ago.”
It certainly did. With his remarks in Helsinki and at the NATO summit in Brussels, Trump has signaled a historic shift in U.S. foreign policy that may determine the future of this nation and the fate of his presidency.
He has rejected the fundamental premises of American foreign policy since the end of the Cold War and blamed our wretched relations with Russia not on Vladimir Putin, but squarely on the U.S. establishment.
In a tweet prior to the meeting, Trump indicted the elites of both parties: “Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse thanks to many years of U.S. foolishness and stupidity and now, the Rigged Witch Hunt!”
Trump thereby repudiated the records and agendas of the neocons and their liberal interventionist allies, as well as the archipelago of War Party think tanks beavering away inside the Beltway.
Looking back over the week, from Brussels to Britain to Helsinki, Trump’s message has been clear, consistent and startling.
NATO is obsolete. European allies have freeloaded off U.S. defense while rolling up huge trade surpluses at our expense. Those days are over. Europeans are going to stop stealing our markets and start paying for their own defense.
And there will be no Cold War II.

And that “..changed 4 hours ago” comment terrified those who tried to stop the private meetings - they know that Putin knows where a lot of their skeletons lie and that their efforts to keep thing tense enough that Trump wouldn’t be prone to converse with Putin have failed...they have both feet in traps and are now contemplating which foot to chew off first.

Obama had eight years to install his mullahs and commissars in leadership positions. Probably Valerie Jarrett’s job to vet them. There were occasional articles about this but they never got enough traction.
The neverTrump faction is well represented with neocon Citizens of the World. They have contempt for the nasty, small minded nationalists who think America has a culture worth preserving.
If the Russians didn’t exist then Hillary and the left would have to invent them. In all this hullabaloo about Russian intervention the amount of actual meddling was infinitesimally small and frankly done by clods. In fact Obama and Susan Rice knew all about it and did nothing, and they want to blame McConnell for not doing anything. That takes chutzpah, while Obama was President and the chief law enforcement officer of the nation. Now it seems they complain too much about this meddling and are very quiet on who was supposed to be guarding America during this time.
It is very convenient to diminish the Trump election victory with Russians under the bed, especially when the Dems had just been sleeping with them. It’s hard to believe Susan Rice, Obama, Lynch, Holder, Peter Stroke , McCabe, Comey, Hillary, Brennan, Clapper, Mueller, Weissmann. All monstrously biased and none afraid to use their office to illegally promote their political ideologies.
Brennan was caught spying on the Senate, and was not even reprimanded. It is a Deep State and the corruption would have been buries had Hillary won.
The left has been diminished but if they can blame the Russians and scream the big lie of collusion, they think they can get back their dignity.
Country is split, and the politics damaged. People are being assaulted for wearing a hat. Political hatred is reaching meteoric levels and nothing seems to be calming the leftist media’s demand for blood.
