Newt Gingrich on Monday offered rare, scalding criticism of President Trump, demanding that the president explain the comments he made during his controversial press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the conclusion of their talks in Helsinki.
"President Trump must clarify his statements in Helsinki on our intelligence system and Putin," the former House speaker wrote on Twitter. "It is the most serious mistake of his presidency and must be corrected—-immediately."
Trump received widespread scorn on Monday after he said at the media availability that he has yet to see any compelling reason why the Kremlin would have interfered in the 2016 election.
His comments follow special counsel Robert Mueller's indictment in federal court on Friday, which alleged 12 Russian military officials hacked Democratic email servers during the campaign.
Gingrich has been a vocal supporter of Trump, but he has on occasion provided constructive critiques of his performance.
Gingrich chastised Trump in April, claiming his administration had botched the release of Deputy Attorney Rod Rosenstein's memo outlining problems with fired FBI Director James Comey.
It was all theater.

Bush League Republicans decide on a nominee and get as many blockers into the race as necessary to ensure the outcome.

This whole trip was not intended to be a PR stunt! At least not by President Trump. President Trump would not waste his time on complicated, risky meetings were there not greater objectives to gain. IMO he has secured an “open door” through which a closer relationship with Russia is possible. Newt is not President, Donald Trump is. Donald has made monkeys of ALL those who ran against him and ALL those who have tried to obstruct him since he was sworn in. The polls count for next to nothing as we have seen repeatedly. If there is anything disgusting, it is the constant cry baby actions of those who continue to doubt no matter how much winning Trump does. Newt is WRONG! Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

Of course he’ll walk out the front door right up to a microphone, and advocate the ignoring of a Constitutional Tenet too.

i dont think it has aired yet. Putin was on Wallace and he is vastly underestimated. Wallace was no match for this guy. I can see why he has been elected several times. I think its on you tube. Awesome , if you are a student of history in the making. I think the Deep State panicked after Trump punched them in the face today. What A PRESIDENT!! We now see them clearly. I’m going to theorize that Mr. Newt was expecting something from President Trump, and that he has not received said something.

I disagree emphatically!
He sinply recognized the groundswell that I and many others also discerned months before Noot jumped in with his “contract.”
The “contract” almost scuttled the victory.
His actions as speaker definitely blunted much of the election afterward.

Such a shame many of his very unstable positions have not been documented with such precision. We can ALL agree he has laid more than a few eggs in the past 17 years. When man is full of himself, he desires to procreate. :-)
With gender issues on the ropes at this time, it remains to be seen whether he fertilized the eggs or responsible only for laying them.
