Well, as tough as it was I picked up a hard copy of the Reno News and Review(known locally as the RN&R). I pretty much knew what was going to be in it. So, past the usual anti-Trump, anti conservative writings and cartoons always found in the rag is the list of 25 good, bad and ugly suggestions. Most are not worth spit IMHO but others will disagree. On the "hole" the cornucopia of the same old crap. With some progressive add ons. Read it if you feel like it. I have to go wash my hands now. See, we in Reno are being oppressed. LOL!

The only semi-sensible suggestion is a safety training course. Something like the “Eddie Eagle” or similar for grade schoolers, then a more advanced one in middle school, and one more in 11th grade to ensure the kids “get it”.

Shot trial followed by a quick bullet to the forehead for anyone murdering with a firearm. No more life in prison.

The day to day gun violence is a function of a dysfunctional society that is the result of liberal progressive policies that have destroyed the family unit in much of the black society and also parts of the non black society. Mass shootings with rare exceptions are from the left and not the right. I find it most odd that we know nothing about the political ideology of the mass shooter in Las Vegas. We know nothing about this man. This is beyond odd.
Where in the hell are the ivestigative reporters that should be looking into every detail of his life of the past twenty years?

“In 2010, the World Health Organization found that the United States gun-homicide rates were more than 25 times higher than in any other high-income country.”
And what are the demographics of those high-income countries?

Want to reduce "gun violence" ???
Then stop focusing on the gun and focus on the violence aspect. The gun, knife, blunt object, car, etc. is just the tool the fundamental problem is the desire to commit acts of violence - seeing violence as the best course of action.
As long as people focus on the tools, they will fail to solve the problem. Of course for the "leadership" promoting such "solutions" that is exactly their intent - they want the violence to continue so they can manufacture excuses to incrementally disarm us.
To: rktman
Twenty-five good, bad and ugly ideas to reduce gun violence I was disappointed to discover that enforcing existing law was not part of the twenty-five ideas.
Enforcing existing laws are not limited to gun crime laws. Cities have laws against armed felons but few cities enforce that law even though law enforcement knows which felons are likely armed.
