Helsinki arrival
AF1 was wheels down at 8:53 pm. POTUS FLOTUS disembarked at 9:06 and began shaking hands with greeters. POTUS did not answer a shouted question about whether he had a message for Putin ahead of their meeting.
Now we are rolling to the Hilton Helsinki Kalastajatorppa. Its 9:08 pm.
In other news, France is the new World Cup champion after beating Croatia 4-2 in the final. Your pool watched the broadcast, carried by Fox, while in the skies over Europe. Fans, including President Emmanuel Macron of France, stood in the stadium and celebrated the win.
Obviously, as president of the host country, Vladimir Putin was also in attendance.
POTUS congratulated Macron and Putin from a tweet sent from the air, and called many in the press the enemy of the people, and Democrats.
Though a gaggle was requested, there was no gaggle on the plane, marking the third day in a row where no single staff member was made available to answer questions about this coming leg of the trip.
