What a horrible story. On a side note Grandma Oralia Mendoza was 36 when her Granddaughter was born. So when did we warp back into the 19th Century?

Just a detail but 36 yo grandmother is not so "19th century." Being married right out of high school at 18 was very common through the 1950's - 60's where I came from (blue collar Pennsylvania.)

This case,though deals with a 13-yo granddaughter, not a newborn. That means the childbearing for mama and grandmama was probably around 12 years old for both. :o/
