High & Upper Middle income show the most drastic drops
These are actually the people who should, were they thinking correctly, be having more children and not fewer. Or at least adopting. But the ability to provide for a larger family, to see them well educated and nourished, which could be viewed as a blessing if people were not selfish, comfort driven and most damningly, generous with their votes rather than their own means is right out is an opportunity that is simply out of fashion with many people.
Without apology there is no endowment to any university more useless and even counterproductive than endowing the arts ... and yet the well heeled all too often seem to think that’s where they can make a real difference. Imagine if instead of being generous to the needy with their votes during their lives and generous to the arts in their deaths so many had just been of their own volition and from their own means seeking to take care of their neighbors and left the rest of us unmolested with their so-called “progressivism”?
We might not have so much crappy art and we might have a culture that still viewed children as a blessing from the Lord rather than a burden or an accomplishment (as in popped out my proof I’m a parent and that’s done and done).
