The Great State of Ohio
***
"Ohio is a state in the Midwestern United States. Ohio is the 34th most extensive, the 7th most populous, and the 10th most densely populated of the 50 United States. The state's capital and largest city is Columbus. The name "Ohio" originated from Iroquois word ohi-yo, meaning "great river". The state, originally partitioned from the Northwest Territory, was admitted to the Union as the 17th state (and the first under the Northwest Ordinance) on March 1, 1803.
Although there are conflicting narratives regarding the origin of the nickname, Ohio is historically known as the "Buckeye State" (relating to the Ohio buckeye tree) and Ohioans are also known as "Buckeyes"."

This quarter marks the beginning of the midterm election campaigns. By the time September hits, a large portion of the work to define candidates and issues will have been underway for a month or more.
Free Republic SHOULD be in the thick of that 2018 campaign. The 2016 election saw Free Republic acknowledged as a significant fighting force for conservatism in many cites throughout the campaign.
Make no mistake. We are on the CUSP of getting everything we have fought for as Freepers for 2 decades. We are also on the cusp of blowing the best opportunity we have ever had. We could help Trump gain serious majorities in both houses of Congress. Or we could again have the meager leads in the House and Senate that gave inordinate power to the McCains, Ryans, and Corkers.
We could blow it so bad that we see the House turn over to Nancy Pelosi and the democrats.
It is appalling to see Free Republic lackadaisically bouncing from freepathon to freepathon barely aware of the impact they have on the political issues of the day.
Or, we could fire up all engines. We could go from impulse power to warp drive.
And we could help deliver real strength to the hand of President Donald Trump and the good guys.
This starts NOT by merely keeping Free Republic going. It starts by realizing the potential here at FR and rocketing our way through each and every Freepathon that comes along.
I consider support for Free Republic to be support for America. It is the only real voice that average conservatives have available.
