It's irritating to respond to a story linked to a single "for pay" source.
But I see where this narrative was going; International Law maritime law makes it illegal to refuse to render aid on the high seas.
Something is horribly wrong with that law if criminals plucked from the sea can, with impunity, threaten the lives of the Captain and crew of the ship which saved them.
Those laws were written in a kinder, more rational time.
Today, in a politically correct world which favors the criminals and protects the pirates and other maritime thugs, ships and crews on the highs must be authorized to treat these new-world pirates the tried and true way : shoot them on sight.
Adding insult to injury just doesn't seem right, if "justice" still has meaning.
