Nailed it.
One thing I heard was that Democrat Senators and staff had declared an all out attempt to swamp the process by requesting hundreds of thousands of documents, literally everything that the nominee had touched in 25 years with government.
As no comment has come out of Trump referring to this, is that an attempt to put an unlimited staff on hand to produce anything and everything that missing can be used as a stall to the hearings?
It is really a conflict of interest for a member of the Justice Department, which is basically the criminal prosecution arm of the Federal Government to participate in the vetting of a potential Judge or Justice who would be appearing before that judge in later court proceedings.
Technically if Rosenstein goes forward with this insane proposal he could make it impossible at some point in the future for any member of the Justice Department to make an appearance before the Supreme Court. Every time a case would reach that level, the president would have to appoint a special counsel to argue the governments case before the Supreme Court.
Rosenstein should be fired for merely for suggesting that the Justice Department participate in this process. This is sheer insanity.
