11 families who had been detained and separated after they were caught crossing the U.S. border illegally returned home Tuesday to Guatemala aboard a U.S. government-chartered flight that read "World Atlantic."
Greeted by first lady Patricia Marroquin, they lined up on the tarmac, shuffling - their shoelaces had been taken as a security precaution. U.S. immigration officials handed over paperwork in manila envelopes to Guatemalan officials. The immigrants walked single-file into a squat gray building at the country's military base to be processed back into their country, along with dozens of others also deported.
Chartered flights full of deportees from the United States regularly arrive in the Central American country, but Tuesday's flight was among the first containing families separated at the border under President Donald Trump's contentious zero tolerance policy. More than 2,300 children were separated from their families before a June 20 order stopping the practice.
While some Central American migrants say they were fleeing to protect their families from severe violence, parents who spoke with The Associated Press said they made the difficult, dangerous journey to the U.S. for a better life. They were seeking a chance at a steady job or a better education for their children.

Juarez and the others said they paid thousands of dollars to smugglers, and would not likely try the journey again anytime soon.
"Now, I'll try to find work here," Juarez said. "What else is there?"

I heard an immigration reporter on Breitbart radio say that the border is totally controlled by Mexican gangs which have split the line among them from San Diego to Texas. You cannot even get near the border without paying off the gangs, either as mules like another freeper said, or as a sex worker, or as an indentured servant. The gangs simply said you will either carry, put out or pay or we will find your family back home. These invaders are endangering not only themselves but also their loved ones left behind.
Well give the AP credit for admitting they crossed the broder illegally.
Another feel good story. Home is always the best place to be, whether it be Guatemala, Mexico or Haiti. You’ll always be more comfortable being in the place you came from, rather than in the place you’re going to.
Good. And stay there.
Adios!
Remember to enter legally the next time!
“Now, let’s put some smugglers on the planes as well. “
No! Put them in jail for ten years!
And just how much of it is untaxed income? We had to go down the street from our commercial office building Napa to one of the many “local Mexican markets” because their employees were illegally parking in our lot. The “manager” of the market was actually the woman ( one of two) that were manning the “remittances windows.” We had to wait in a line of about ten people to get to speak with her. It turned out it was the other women behind the window who was our illegal parker.
“Mexico’s main income is from money sent from the USA.”
U.S. gov’t needs to do something about that. My BofA at the time was in a small California town, demographics showed it was 84% Hispanic, probably a lot of those illegals but don’t know. That bank had 99% Hispanic tellers, big signs up in Spanish, and signs telling them how to transfer the money to families in Mexico. You never heard a word of English in that bank, except for the tellers who were all bilingual. Actually, so nice they were helping their families in Mexico out, but that money could have been spent locally and helped the economy.
Let’s compromise. I said put them on the plane. I didn’t say how they would reach the earth again.
GERONIMOOOOOOOOoo
And just how much of it is untaxed income?

Good question and for sure some is.
Ditto
“Lets compromise. I said put them on the plane. I didnt say how they would reach the earth again.”
Yeah, I suppose we should consider the cost of incarceration when making that decision.
Child Sex slaves?
“Good question and for sure some is.”
Some? When you consider that the reason that they are here is work “off the books,” I suspect MOST is untaxed. The solution is to “tax” it when it’s remitted. Take 50% of all of it and force the “remitter” to get it back by filing income taxes like the rest of us. After all, if you win a bundle in Las Vegas, the IRS is right there to take half before you leave the casino.
May I ask a question?
Are there Airlines that fly out of there?
Rather than giving a Coyote Thousands of Dollars and having to trek through Mexico to get the US, wouldn’t it be easier to get a Tourist Visa, fly in to the US and just disappear?
They could even fly First Class and save money.
Heck, even the Three Amigos would do.
wouldnt it be easier to get a Tourist Visa, fly in to the US and just disappear?

The Visa group now is becoming as large in numbers or more than the illegals
that cross the southern border. They come in on legal visas, work, etc. and just
never leave. A lot of these come from the far east, Asia, etc.
and nearly 630,000 of them didnt go home, according to new numbers released Monday.

I really do feel for these people who come from those crappy countries. If they would make a covenant with God, and dedicate themselves and their country to Him, I do not doubt He would honor that covenant. The courageous people at Plymouth Rock made such a covenant, and though it took many years to be accomplished, God did indeed, honor it, and continues to do so. There, but for the grace of God...
I always ask, who owns the planes that get paid hundreds of millions of dollars a year to fly these people back to their home countries?? Ever wonder why the problem is never fixed?? The Swamp is large.
