As George Sanders says to Ann Baxter in All About Eve: “That was a stupid lie! Easily disproved!”
Gosh I love that movie, and George Sanders. Now I’m going to have to watch it today. So many great lines. I don’t know who makes the movie more, Davis or Sanders. They were both great. I LOVE the scene where Sanders lets Anne Baxter know that he’s had her number all along, and tells her how the cow ate the cabbage. No matter what heights she reaches, as long as she lives she has to live with the knowledge that he’s on to her. The only surprise is that she’s not more wary when Barbara Bates starts pulling the same con on her.
