It is up to McConnell as the Senate Leader to set the time allowed for debate, questioning of the nominee, etc..
There are about 3 weeks of July and all of August and September and maybe 2” weeks of October to get this done. If McConnell is inclined he can simply tell the Dems the final vote is October 15 and they should make the most of the time leading up to that day in order to question Kavanaugh and read his cade history.
Well, the SCOTUS starts a new year in the beginning of October, so, if Kavanaugh is to be seated then he needs to be confirmed before the first Monday in October.
