..."The Post’s Andrew Coyne wrote Saturday that Trudeau “seems to want to consign the whole affair to an ambiguous parallel universe in which things neither happen nor do not happen, in which he did not grope her but she might have ‘experienced’ it as such …” Yes. It’s precisely what he wants to do. But there’s no ambiguity about it.

We’ve always known Trudeau is “nonjudgmental.” Which sounds kind and generous, unlike that narrow, nasty moralizing that some things are wrong and need to be condemned. Trudeau’s all touchy-feely “You do you” and “I do me.” But what did anyone think nonjudgmentality was if not a refusal to judge by old standards or any at all … or be judged by them?

Unfortunately there is a razor blade in this apple. You can’t really be “nonjudgmental” about facts or morals. You have to decide whether a cement truck is barrelling toward the crosswalk or you won’t be around long enough to express sophisticated cynicism. And you can’t call sexual misconduct a matter of taste.

If you really had no view as to life’s purpose you couldn’t decide whether to get out of bed and go to work, commit an axe murder, or curl up and die. Presumably you’d lie there convinced nothing matters, including the gnawing hunger in your belly until you perished. Thus Meursault, anti-hero of Camus’ existential “masterpiece” L’Étranger, can’t be bothered to avoid execution because social conventions bore him and he rejects the notion of any obligation, or ability, to justify one’s actions. But it’s not what relativists do.

Beneath his passivity, even Meursault seethes with rage, and lust, and kills a man casually. And as we saw with ominous clarity in the 20th century, the alternative to discovering objective truth through the exercise of your intellect is to conjure it up as a triumph of your will.

I’m not calling Trudeau a fascist. I refuse Facebook requests from people who make such claims. But in a classic phrase I got from Queen’s history professor Don Akenson, people have small ideas but “big ideas have people.” And Trudeau, never one to break a mental sweat, has passively absorbed trendy ideas including relativism that then absorbed him.

-Canada is the first post-modern nation. It has no core values. There aren’t men or women. Aren’t I inclusive … and good-looking, too? These ideas are not mere protective colouration, however. First you say there’s no truth, then you think it, then you act on it. Even Trudeau’s classic “Because it’s 2015” about a half-female cabinet was a repudiation of eternal standards of merit as comprehensive as it was glib, with real-world consequences.-

You might think he could still kill this story, even now, by saying yes, I got “fresh,” she told me to beep off and off I beeped. But to him, sensitivity to women’s issues is a cudgel not a cause. He wields it to crush his foes. That it doesn’t also hurt him isn’t hypocrisy or confusion.

-It’s sincere relativism.-

Relativism is profoundly, inherently narcissistic. Like Jacques Derrida, with his belief that there’s no text or reader but his employment contract is binding in court, such people abolish everything else so their own ego can fill the universe. Thus even if naturally generous and childlike, they become menaces to those around them.

Whatever Trudeau did 18 years ago, he’s now in a position where he gets to feel no remorse. Allowing the reporter her private truth is a way not of validating but of erasing her. And since he’s powerful and she’s not, his will shall prevail.

His position, alas, is all too clear."

RE: Trudeau’s lucky he’s a relativist

AKA a man without principles who blows with whatever is convenient at the moment.

Lil Justin and his Liberals want an early election.

After the savage beating the Grits took in Ontario, why wait?

If they’re gonna be tossed from office, no sense in prolonging the agony.

ONE FOR THE BOOKS—JUSTIN TRUDEAU ON GROPING:

“Often a man experiences an interaction (like groping) as being benign or not inappropriate, and a woman, particularly in a professional context, can experience it differently.”

Gimme that again, Justin?

You say you “often have inappropriate desires” to “grope” women but that women should just shrug it off.

So if some Canadian manhandled your wife, you’d just shrug it off?

Trudeau must’ve been observing Bill and Hill very closely. His behavior is totally that of a Malignant Narcissist.

"Canada is the first post-modern nation. It has no core values"

It is exactly the kind of nation which will be overrun by insurgents. In just one generation you won't recognize Canada.

As for Trudeau, Old Fashion Country Ass Kicking would be a good sound start for him if not Canada.

Trudeau had to twist himself into a pretzel trying to say his is innocent, but also trying to keep his remarks politically correct. I am surprised our media is covering this - I though they would be in full cover up mode.
