“Arizona is also one to consider. All the GOPers are trailing the dem there.”
It is worse than that. McSally is more liberal - by a large margin - than either McCain or Flake. Flake would literally be a much more conservative senator than McSally if he kept his seat! Getting out the conservative vote for someone to the left of McCain will not be easy!
But if Kelli Ward beats McSally in the primary, the GOP-E & many Mormons will gladly cut her throat for challenging Flake, so a big part of the GOP vote will be missing. They’ll cut money to her and whisper lies to prevent her from winning. They’d PREFER the democrat bisexual communist to Kelli Ward!
Sheriff Joe is revealing himself as a corrupt, dishonest, egotistical tool of the GOP-E.
So...my prediction? Arizona is in trouble!
“Sheriff Joe is revealing himself as a corrupt, dishonest, egotistical tool of the GOP-E.”
Let’s wait until the primary is a bit closer before making such accusations (it’s over 1.5 months away).
Right now, Sheriff Joe is helping beat McSally down on the campaign trail. That’s a good thing. Yes, he is taking votes from Ward, but that’s almost irrelevant right now. He’s building a following.
If he drops out about 4 weeks before the primary and throws all of his support to Ward, McSally is done for ... by that time, he will have certainly locked up a solid percentage of voters that will crawl over broken glass to support/vote for Ward after his endorsement.
Remember, there are certain perks when you’re a candidate ... being a candidate entitles him to lots of facetime he wouldn’t get otherwise. Ward and Arpaio have very similar views, so it’s not a stretch to think that they’re somewhat working together.
Of course, if you’re right, then f-him :-) ... however, I can’t see this situation not being more of a strategic play to keep a GOPe candidate out of the Senate. Trump pardoned the guy for heaven’s sake and Arpaio has to know what we are up against! The Republican that wins this race will have an easier time winning the general election (I didn’t say *easy* ... *easier*) ... the harder part is fighting the GOPe ... it seems that if one thinks outside the box, you can confuse the hell out of the GOPe and win :-).
