I agree that manafort should not have been jailed in the first place.
That issue is a totally separate issue from administering torture. Torture is the intentional infliction of physical pain repeatedly. There is NO evidence whatsoever that jailers are doing this to manafort. Therefore reporting such a thing is a LIE! An outright falsehood.
Maybe by the legal definition. But I can see how a propaganda journalist could call it torture if they are referring to mental torture.
