During the confirmation hearings, he’s not required to answer what-if questions in detail about every kind of hypothetical, fictional situation. So he’ll simply say something to the effect that he believes in following precedents, that there are too many possibilities in cases to allow speculation in advance, etc. He was confirmed for a lower court against higher odds before, and others have given similar answers.
Kavanaugh has *not* said that he would overturn Roe v. Wade or decided against allowing any abortion. He has only written opinions against taxpayers paying for some abortions in particular cases.
[Time to neutralize some of the noise on that issue for now, yes? We’re on the same page. ;-) ]
In 2000 Kavanaugh gave $1,000 to the campaign of his pro-abortion buddy in Ohio who was running for the US Senate. His name is Richard Cordray.
Hes also running for Ohio governor this year and has been endorsed
by NARAL. Its amazing how many are giving him a pass on his moderate abortion views.
Susan Collins is as happy as a pig in mud-hole.
Thanks for that. I assume the Democrats will ask the question anyways? But glad he doesn’t have to answer.
