We could have two or maybe even three more departures from the Court on his watch. Thomas and Ginsburg are the obvious. Byers is possible. Maybe even Sotomayor.

But then if they don’t vacate on Trump’s watch, they will surely vacate on the next President’s watch.

Why Sotomayor?

She’s only 64.

Wasn’t there something about the Wise Latina (TM) being not in the best of health recently? Or at least I thought I read that.

Thomas is only 70, and Breyer is only 79. Maybe Breyer might be gone on a second term, RBG perhaps, but unless Thomas has indicated he wants out sooner, he might stay on quite awhile. Sotomayor can be on until her health gets worse but who knows about that. So I say Trump needs a second term for 1-2 more possibly.

breyer will be 80 on August 16. Justice Thomas is still a spring chicken at 70.

rbg, breyer, and then Justice Thomas. The first two back to their master, the Father of Lies, Justice Thomas to a richly deserved rewarding retirement.
