The candidate in California already opened the topic, by stating he was against Sharia. That is not good enough.
A voter can ask anything they want of a candidate. He or she may not answer, but in light of the Jihadi reputation of practitioners of islam and that according to islam they should have no allegiance to anything other than Islam. We have a right to ask and in islam they can lie. But they can not condemn the Koran. Do you condemn domestic abuse? Yes. In the Koran 4.34 it states a man may beat his wife. Do you condemn Koran 4.34?
