Here in Florida (Tampa area) I’ve learned from Cuban friends that there is a pecking order in the local Latino community - they are certainly not one homogeneous block.
On top are the Cubans, especially the ones born here, or that arrived shortly after Castro’s takeover.
On the bottom are the Puerto Ricans. Cubans despise the Puerto Ricans. They don’t think highly of Mexicans either. South American Latinos are OK.
But I’m sure if I had any PR friends, they’d probably tell me they don’t care for Cubans either.
