I was a kid when the white haired Cardinal Cushing made it long enough to see a Catholic president and somehow made it longer and all that. People sort of condescendingly talked as if he was so old how long could he go on? Then JFK was killed and later in 1968 Robert Kennedy was killed. Both much younger men gone. Spellman made it to 1970.

The supposedly ailing Ruth B.G. and the mysteriously unsteady Hillary (and McCain) seem to go on and on. Will they be around to be interviewed by President Chelsea Clinton’s CNN anchor daughter?
