We talk about the boys, but the efforts by the divers is extraordinary. One of the two divers assigned to each boy carries to the boy’s oxygen tank. And it’s not for 10 minutes or so, it’s hours that they are swimming with a tank and equipment on their backs, holding a line and carrying this tank. The strength and stamina of those men is impressive. They came from all over the world to help out. It’s given people like me a new education and respect for their profession.

Scuba systems use compressed air.
As far as I know only recirculating closed systems use oxygen.
I was wondering if they gave the boys a mild sedative before diving to prevent panic. None know how to swim.
