A dive team brought a fifth boy out of a cave in Thailand Monday and were working at lightning speed to recover his coach and seven soccer teammates still trapped underground a day after the first four boys were successfully evacuated in an international rescue mission that has gripped the attention of the world.
The latest rescue was completed just after 5 p.m. local time, 6 p.m. Eastern time, a source close to the rescue operation said, about six hours after divers entered the jungle cave to resume the operation to save the remaining members of the soccer team that has now been in the cavern for 17 days.

Chiang Rai health officials say the 8 boys rescued from the cave have some scratches and ailments ranging from low heart rate to cough to pneumonia. Otherwise they are physically okay and sitting up (and asking for chocolate).
Ekaphol Chanthawong, 25, will be left completely alone in the Tham Luang cave 'if' diving teams continue their system of saving four boys at a time - a possibility chief rescuer Narongsak Osottanakorn wouldn't rule out.....
10.40 summary:
all 8 boys are healthy and happy. They can eat food. Their health has nothing to be worried about. Theyll be in a disease control for 7 days and if theres no problem, theyll meet their relatives.
Thanks for the update———I will be going to bed in an hour——and ever since this rescue started every time I wake up during the night, which is often,I grab my iPod to check news of the cave rescues.
Prayers that all goes well.
Parents of boys send message out regarding the Coach....
“All boys will have their families waiting for them, but not for the coach. He only has his aged grandmother. Please welcome him and treat him like our family. He deserves it.”
——————————————————————————————According to the Thai Armed forces:

All of the kids has lost weight about 5 lbs but nothing seriously affecting their health.
Update on what to expect now the rescue has geared up for the final push....
Narongsak said the rescue teams, comprising dozens of Thai and international diving experts spent nine hours yesterday two hours faster than they did a day earlier to extract the four survivors safely from the cave. He said the rescue operation today should move faster because the same teams of rescuers who will be re-employed for the mission are more familiar with the conditions inside.
The rescue attempts today will be a repeat of what happened the past two days. The rescue divers will guide the survivors, equipped with full face masks, through passageways partly submerged in dark and murky water, to reach drier spots from where they will move toward the cave entrance where ambulances are on stand-by.

What a beautiful soul! I’m hopeful her country will compensate her sacrifice.

Operation resumes:
... Divers are back in the cave on day 3, attempting to rescue the final 4 boys and their soccer coach.
...Monsoon rain is now coming down hard in Mae Sai and shows no sign of letting up. The return of the rains will put extra pressure on todays rescue efforts, as divers battle to retrieve the remaining kids before flood waters rise
...a race against “water and time.” Experts close to the operation have expressed concerns that a rise in water levels could increase the risk for divers and extend the time required to bring the boys out from the cave.
Those divers will need to use greatest concentration today if conditions change on the way out with the boys. Now we know the boys developed hypothermia even with several wetsuits on. Can you imagine being so thin and muscles atrophied but then must swim for miles in cold dark water to save your own life? Not being experienced in swimming? Really extraordinary mental stamina the 8 boys already rescued have found in themselves.

10/7/18 Todays rescue mission has begun at 10.08am. The extraction plan will be 4+1+1+3 (4boys+1coach+1doctor+3SEAL) If everything is working properly including the weather the plan to bring all of the moopahfootballteam out will be possible
One doctor and three Thai Navy-SEALs have been staying inside the cave with those boys since they were found until today...
Incident Commander, Narongsak “expect all Boars, coach and all rescuers” will be out of the cave by this evening
