For the first several decades, the Miss America contest featured wholesome girl-next-door types. It slowly morphed over the years, picking up speed after the 1950s to become more prurient. The current crop of contestants obviously have had a lot of "work" done at the the plastic surgeon's clinic. It takes some serious coin to become a Miss America contestant.

Miss America was always Bert Parks wholesome

Miss USA was actually the hot women......

God I say that with my own mother being in the competition for my home state when dad was at VMI

She always downplayed it but I was proud of her

Just look at mIss universe especially the Colombian women or used to be the Venezuelans too
