Sources tell Breitbart News on Sunday that Judges Amy Barrett and Thomas Hardiman have taken the top two positions in the Supreme Court selection process in the final hours before President Donald Trump makes his final choice for a lifetime appointment. Other outlets are reporting different names and numbers, leaving everyone guessing.
At age 46, Barrett would be the youngest justice in almost 30 years. She graduated from Notre Dame Law School, clerked for a federal appeals judge and for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, then returned to Indiana as a law professor at Notre Dame, where she is well known as an ardent supporter of an originalist interpretation of the Constitution. She is a mother to seven children both biological and adopted and is affectionately called Judge Dogma by some of her admirers for her grueling confirmation ordeal.
Hardiman has distinguished himself on several major issues during his tenure on the bench. Prominent among these is Binderup v. Attorney General, where he wrote that the Second Amendment must be interpreted according to its original public meaning when it was adopted in 1791, striking down a federal gun-control law as applied to two nonviolent criminals for minor offenses when the government conceded that these individuals were not dangerous.
The Washington Post called Hardiman a Second Amendment extremist, which may help his chances with the NRA-endorsed President Trump.

I like that. How has be been "very bad on illegal immigration "?
Not a word about Hardiman in that article.
In an interview tonight on Fox, Lindsey mentioned he is pro Harriman. That dovetails with their soft immigration stance.
Hardiman has an expansive view of the second amendment, believing the right to bear arms extends outside the home. In an opinion he wrote disagreeing with a New Jersey law that requires people to show justifiable need to be armed outside the home, Hardiman was alone in his opposition, expressing the view that the need for self-defense exists beyond the confines of the household. In a separate case, he held that even violent felons could regain their second amendment rights so long as they met certain conditions.
In addition, Hardiman notably ruled in favor of a New Jersey prisons strip-search policy, believing the need for security trumps potential inmates rights to privacy. While there have been questions raised by conservatives about Hardimans views on immigration due to some legal work he did for a clinic called Ayuda early in his career--- when he helped poor, Spanish-speaking immigrants in political asylum and domestic abuse cases--- he has also written unpublished opinions against non-citizens.
I don't believe there's much in Hardiman's record to fully gauge him [on immigration]. Ayuda cuts both ways. It could help politically due to the concerns that Trump is anti-immigration, Philip Holloway, legal analyst at the Holloway Law Group, told FOX Business.
He seems to be an originalist. As long as he follows the law and the constitution, I'm not too worried about his work on behalf of that foundation early in his career. Graham may just be for him because he would be easier to confirm than the others. And the 2A is the biggest issue for me (not that borders aren't). On the whole I think we'll be fine with any of Trump's picks.
On dear, she has health issues?
How could anyone tell?
Imagine a Hillary SCOTUS. Imprisonment for “hate speech.” Mass confiscation of guns. Full voting rights for illegal aliens. Partial birth abortion. This is what the Never Trump crowd wants.
McConnell is pushing for Hardiman. Apparently he thinks Hardiman will be the easiest to get confirmed.
ALL the most recent head to head predictions include .... wait for it ..... Thomas Hardiman.
I have been telling you.........
It’s going to be Hardiman!
From President Trump’s mouth to my ears.
“Hardiman very bad on illegal immigration “
NOT TRUE!
So what’s your answer to Ann Coulter’s assessment on that?
“So far Ive seen articles saying its Kavanaugh and Hardiman, Kethledge and Hardiman, and now Barrett and Hardiman. If I was to bet Id say Hardiman.”
AHA! Seeing the light!
Until recently, Hardiman was only mentioned in passing. He was left off a lot of people’s lists.
NOW, he is the only common denominator in head to head predictions.
Hardiman was 1st runner up to Gorsuch then, He has been next in line ever since.
In other words, it has been Hardiman since the day Trump chose Gorsuch.
Also, Hardiman and Kethledge are the two “moderates” promoted by Mitch—which should tell you all you need to know. Swing/moderates? Yes. Read this and weep:

I didn’t see what Coulter said. I don’t put much stock in what she says. You can’t! She is all over the map! Like Newt, I love her sometimes the next thing you know she’s off her meds.
So, I don’t care what she said. I like the Trump position on immigration. Trump will be just fine with Hardiman’s.
If it’s ACB, it would be interesting to see how the communist hens (RBG, Kagen & Soto) will treat her.
Yes, I know it’s rhetorical as we all know the answer to that question.
If you think Trump values what the turtle has to say, you don’t understand Trump.
This is TRUMP’S pick. No one else’s.
It will be Hardiman.
Trump is a master showman, who has successfully made his agenda center stage in the media. Everyone is going to tune in to find out his pick, and he will likely spend half an hour communicating his philosophy to the American people before announcing who it is.
My father had a “system” for betting on the horse races.
Sometimes it WON! Over all it LOST! It WAS scientific though.
Maybe he should have considered the political leanings of the Senators from the states where the horses were from or maybe where the jockeys were from or where the owners were from....
