R Reagan won Wisconsin, both times.

Matter of fact, his second election was most likely the largest LANDSLIDE ever.

He just couldn’t win Minnesota.

Nixon’s re-election in 1972 was larger popular vote wise but Reagan got a few more electoral votes in 84 than Nixon in 72 (525-13 for Reagan in 1984, 521-17 for Nixon in 72). Nixon only lost DC and Massachusetts vs McGovern. Nixon got 60% of the popular vote vs Reagan’s 58%. Only FDR in 1936 got a slightly higher percentage of the popular vote than Nixon did. FDR lost only Maine and Vermont in his first reelection in 1936!
