Brexit Secretary David Davis has resigned from the UK government.
His resignation comes days after Theresa May secured the cabinet's backing for her Brexit plan despite claims from Brexiteers that it was too "soft".
Mr. Davis was appointed Brexit secretary in 2016 and was responsible for negotiating the UK withdrawal from the EU.
A Brexiteer hailed his resignation as a "principled and brave decision"...

Mrs. May is going to be distracted when she meets The President. She may well be in the middle of a leadership challenge.
Theresa May nearly lost a unneeded election and has made a hash of leaving the EU. David Davis leaving the Cabinet has precipitated a major crisis in the current Government.
Peter Hitchens has written and spoken that the UK is in a ‘pre civil war condition’ in recent years.
In one sense my suggestion was sarcastic but in another it was semi-serious.
Between Brexit and the jailing of Tommy Robinson and the widespread sexual abuse Robinson was trying to shine light on with his video streaming, you get a sense of the underlying tensions in the UK right now.
This should bring her down.
