If you took out the cities of Los Angeles and San Fransisco the state would vote majority republican.

Of course I never wrote anything about “getting rid of Los Angeles and San Francisco.

May you can explain what is the difference is between, "Taking out LA and SF" and Getting rid of LA and SF?

The difference is that “Taking out LA and SF,” in the context of my post, meant looking at voting patterns in the rest of California to illustrate that the politics are not homogeneous across the entire area. But of course you already knew that.

I'm not sure what YOU meant by “Getting rid of LA and SF,” but presumably it would mean a political separation by creating new states or territories out of those cities, or perhaps more drastic measures like thermonuclear annihilation. For the record I'm not in favor of either of those two options.
