Some parts....like west Texas, are arid (low humidity). Central TX is less humid than E/SE TX.
Where would you live the other half of the year (that’s not hot/humid)?
Our kid is working in N. Austin and lives near Round Rock. I didn't mean to imply we would only live there for half a year. Just would need to deal with the hottest half of the year.

At least the Austin area isn’t as humid as the Houston area :-O
We spend a lot of time at a family lake place, near Austin....and the difference in humidity, from the Houston area, is noticeable.
