As for Denmark and Sweden, they have moved away from Socialism for one thing.....check out their corporate tax rates.

I don't think socialism is defined by corporate tax rates.

What social services have they cut back?

Cutting taxes on corporations is certainly anathema to Democratic Socialists or even regular ole Democrats.

As is school choice. As is the lack of minimum wages. There is less time and red tape to register a company in Denmark than in just about any US state. In fact the regulatory burden is generally lighter in Denmark than the US. It ranks #4 in ease of doing business in the world bank’s ranking of 189 countries. The US ranks #7. Want “free” university education Leftists in the US tout just like Denmark? OK...to get that “free” education you have to study certain subjects. You the student do not get to choose. Hint: you can forget about getting a “free” education to study liberal arts. Pretty sure gender studies wouldn’t make the list either. You will study subjects that serve the needs of businesses in the country or you can pay for your education yourself.

Somehow I’m thinking this is not at all what the Leftists who tout the Scandinavian model in the US have in mind.
