It’s not Mitches job to “offer counsel” here, He’s only supposed to “advise and consent” after the President makes his selection.

Hardiman was the runner-up for the seat that Gorsuch got, Trump obviously already likes him.

The NYT’s? I’m not convinced by their reports on...anything. Besides, as much as Mitch has infuriated me on countless issues, he got us Gorsuch, and he likely knows where he can get votes for these guys.

I like Kethledge the best, but expect the president is privy to information on these candidates that we’re not, so am going to trust his choice.

Kethledge is “outdoorsy,” and he has been hunting! Therefore, he’s a great Second Amendment pick.

Oh, wait. What? Uh, I’m not a girl, so I reject that and call it a fallacy.

The point is not to get any Supreme Court Justice confirmed.

The point is not to please the socially liberal Republicans of the Senate.

The point is to get a Supreme Court Justice who will rule in accordance with the Constitution.

They should take a FSD approach to decisions.

The SD stands for stare decisis.

Senator Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader, told President Trump this past week that Judges Raymond M. Kethledge and Thomas M. Hardiman presented the fewest obvious obstacles to being confirmed to replace Justice Anthony M. Kennedy[.]

IF this is true, it should disqualify Kethledge and Hardiman. The Turtle would love for President Trump to appoint another Souter, so any potential nominee who receives the Turtle's approval should not receive that of President Trump.

The constitution says McConnell is supposed to give advice. That’s what he’s doing. I’m a constitutionalist even when it says something that’s tough to swallow. If Mitch says Kavenaugh will be too hard to confirm, potus needs to know that. If Hardiman and Kethledge can get through, then that needs to be considered as the advice of the senate.

Maybe Trump can go to someone else on the list of 25.

Probably fake news. But, if true then Trump should do the opposite of what Turtle recommends.
