I think there’s no problem saying those things.
“Pre-marital sex is a hate crime...”
“Cussing and sweating is a hate crime...”
Etc...

I believe the Biblical word would be sin. Hate crime is a Leftist linguistic construction that has no place in any Christian environment.
I find it quite telling how many “churches” put up little catchy slogans on their signs. I figure there’s at least a dozen appropriate verses on any topic out of the tens of thousands in the Bible. Of course, the professional church-builders know better how to fill pewz and coffers.
I sure hope that is not the case. It was 108 in my neck of the woods today!
