These costs pale in comparison to the public school costs of these invaders; here in NJ many of our schools would be closed and districts merged except for the illegals in the schools. People may be asked to prove residency, but not legality - and the “residency” is often off the books. When there was a discussion a few years ago about verifying legality before admission to public schools, the teachers’ unions successfully squashed that. These illegal dupes are a critical part of transferring taxpayer funds through the teachers’ unions into Dem coffers...
That raises a great question. If it is not OK to ask if the student is a legal resident of the country or not, why is it OK to ask if there is a legal resident of that school district or not? Seems that they should not be allowed to ask if the student and family are residents of the school district. Fair is fair.
