I knew Scott was trash when he supported new gun control in Florida.

Florida: elect this man to the Senate at your own peril. He is a younger John McCain, and we will not be rid of him for decades.

Whoa...planned on supporting him, but need to do further research . Not sounding good.

I was in same boat when my company started to do significant business down in Florida, it’s a natural hub for import-export and after the disaster of Obama’s first two years, Rick Scott at least seemed promising at first. But just like Marco Rubio, he courted the support of the Tea Party, then turned around and stabbed them and the conservative movement. For most part it wasn’t quite as obvious as Rubio, who put his RINO treason on display by joining the Gang of 8 to push the pro-amnesty 2013 mass immigration cheap labor bill. With Scott it began to come out more gradually with his 2nd amendment betrayal, his more and more business unfriendly policies esp for small businesses, his odd veto of a bill to reform Florida’s corrupt alimony laws that serve no one but the Democrat trial lawyer class, his coddling of criminals and then, in the ultimate betrayal, his support of amnesty and the h1b and mass immigration.

As irritating as Scott’s other RINO backstabbing was, I could still have given him grudging support if he at least stayed consistent with the wishes of the base on the two core issues of gun rights and mass immigration. Whatever his back-sliding on the other issues, those are the two issues where a Republican absolutely cannot betray the base. But Scott chose to betray us on both. My conservative friends and relatives in Florida absolutely will not vote for him if he’s nominated, he’s toxic to the party’s chances in November because he’ll cause conservatives to stay home.
