You got that right... Prison here (Japan) is NO TV, NO visitation, no talking to others, every day forced cleaning of anything/everything, NO special treatment (like back in the states), and sleeping on the floor with futons (which is torture in itself)...

I believe I’ve read that the ONLY incentive is that they have some kind of vocational training while in prison (like license plate making >.<...).. lol

You also cannot sleep or lie down during the day. You must sit erect, no slouching, leaning, etc.

I think Japan is like Korea, they also take away your identity as a human being. You are only addressed by your prison number on your uniform.

I think instead of sending our criminals to American Prisons aka. “Crime-U” we could send them to Japanese prison for 1/3 the time and get far better results!!!!
