Add New York Assemblyman Dov Hikind of Brooklyn to the list of Democrats distancing themselves from the party's leaders. The lawmaker slammed Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Thursday for his attacks on President Trump in a new fundraising email. Instead of "villainizing" the White House and the "hard right," Hikind suggested Schumer and his fellow Democrats at least admit that the economy is improving and that there are radicals in their own party. He wrote his suggestions in a Facebook post.
"You forgot to tell us about the economy," Hikind tells Schumer. "As good as its been, economists expect even more growth through the end of the year. Thats very good news, Senator.
You forgot to tell us about unemployment, which is lower than it has been in decades, while economic confidence is at a 17-year high. Its also at a record low for minorities. Thats very good news, Senator."
Hikind goes on to list other Trump accomplishments, such as low unemployment, backing out of the Iran Deal and facilitating a better relationship with North Korea.
Please "restore sanity and honesty" to the party, Hikind pleaded with Schumer.
Other Democrats like Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) have turned on Schumer, despite his giving her his support.
"I'm not going to vote for him, she told Politico.
Schumer still seems to have more friends than Pelosi though, who has been spurned by progressive candidates all over the country. Just how much distance can these Democrats place between themselves and the unpopular House Minority Leader though, when some of them have donated to her and have voted for her agenda?
It's Borough Park Brooklyn. It's an Orthodox Jewish district that usually votes Republican.
His district mainly registers Democrat but they usually vote Republican.
