I have for many many decades had cognitive dissonance about so called free trade because it was crammed down my throat like global warming in school. When you point out the flaws, they just deny and attack the messenger. Aw, that’ll never happen. Then it does.
What flaws do you refer to? Free trade is aimed at the optimal allocation of economic resources which implies minimum government involvement. Tariffs lead to much more government involvement in market place decisions.
