LOL, I can say there ISN’T a law, and if they did have something the equivalent of our seemingly stupid Logan Act, they didn’t mention it.
Like I said, I just thought of two British sounding names and put a hyphen between them!
And, like you, I believe the UK intelligence services had a hand in this idiotic attempt to bring down Trump. Not sure how big it is, but any involvement we find, we should skewer them with it.

Weird.
My understanding of “can not” means it is impossible, not that it breaks the rules.
May not and must not mean it breaks the rules, as I recall.

What happens when you tell anyone what to do:
Aries, Leo, Scorpio: does the opposite because How Dare You?
Taurus, Aquarius: does the opposite because they had already planned it and they are not changing their plans for you.
Gemini, Sagittarius: does the opposite because This Will Be Fun!
Cancer, Libra: does the opposite because inner voice says to, but is very apologetic about it.
Virgo, Capricorn: does the opposite on principle.
Pisces: does the opposite because they weren't listening anyway and is quite surprised to see you're upset about it.

I hope he can see this as an excuse to cancel the trip. I was never in favor of him going to visit a place where both the national government and the government of London are extremely hostile to him, and where imho his security cannot be guaranteed.

I hope Trump brings up the UK’s political prisoner Tommy Robinson when he meets with May.

I think we agree on "cannot" when it comes from a government statement. It certainly would not mean a meeting would be impossible, because they could certainly meet even if it was in violation of some law.
If someone said "You cannot murder people" it doesn't mean it is impossible, just that you can be punished for it.
Something just seems odd about this.
I think FOX is the issue here, since it is word for word their title for the article linked to. And I think it conveys something that isn't there.

Amusing story from WW2, during Churchill's visit to United States during late December 1941 to January 1942, he attempted to make a phone call to Wendell Willkie while in Florida (one of Roosevelt's political opponents) but accidentally got connected to the White House instead.
"Am I speaking to Mr. Willkie?" said Churchill
"No, this is the President" said Roosevelt
Churchill was mortified by the error, thinking he made a major gaffe but Roosevelt laughed it off.

I think it is about time for PDT to start telling people to engage in aerial intercourse with rolling pastry.
Time to quit screwing with these idiots in Europe, recall our troops, tighten up on imports and - while at it, buy an Island with the saved money and offer it to the ‘world’ for the NEW UN HQ as we are going to turn the present UN space into homeless quarters.
Time to give up the ‘doormat’ role and ‘Speak LOUDLY while carrying that big stick’.
They (supposedly) don’t like us now, let give them a REAL reason.

Some of the laws in the U.K. illustrate its lack of agreement with human rights as stated in the U.S.A. by our Constitution. Notice the respect and admiration voiced for our U.S. constitutional rights including our Second Amendment by some of Nigel Farage's friends here. And notice the banner over their heads.

Here's the title of the article at The Telegraph as linked in the excerpt above this thread.
"'Donald Trump must not meet Nigel Farage': Downing St accused of laying down red line ahead of UK visit"
The visible part of the article including the thesis agrees with the title. For those who want to read the whole article, registration is free (as are gateways for reading it without registering).

I hope he cancels his visit
for this reason in particular.
And at least mentions our fundamental respect for free association and free speech, with respect to the disturbing detention of Tommy Robinson.

The U.K. government has reportedly told President Trump he must not meet Brexit architect and former U.K. Independence Party leader Nigel Farage when Trump visits the U.K. later this month. The U.K. Daily Telegraph, citing a source within the British government, reports that 10 Downing Street made it clear that Trump must not meet Farage during his working visit to the U.K. on July 13.
